[ARTIST STATEMENT] We had just finished 3 days of shooting in Monument Valley and were set to head out south. It snowed that morning so we checked out a few of the more accessible spots and then started our journey. For obvious reasons, you can see Kayenta Rock from quite a distance. As we rounded a curve I pulled over to admire the rock, the clear sky, and the perfect arc of the roadway leading off to the rest of our journey. I didn't need to get out and set up the tripod. I didn't even need to get out of the car. In fact, I didn't need to do anything except grab my camera from the back seat and shot this shot right through the car window! Sometimes, you jus' gotta love it when a plan comes together.
